Chopta Tungnath Trek

The Chopta Tungnath Trek is one of the most breathtaking and accessible treks in the Indian Himalayas, located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is steeped in mythology and is believed to have been built by the Pandavas. The spiritual energy of this place, combined with its high-altitude location, creates a truly divine experience for visitors. Chandrashila – Sunrise Above the Clouds
From Tungnath, trekkers can continue their journey for another 1.5 km to reach Chandrashila Peak, standing at approximately 4,000 meters. The climb is steeper but rewarding, especially at sunrise. From the top, you can witness a 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas, which includes peaks like Kedarnath Dome, Bandarpunch, and Sumeru Parbat. According to legend, Lord Rama meditated at Chandrashila after defeating Ravana, adding to the spiritual significance of this spot.
